One day in church someone gave a talk and was telling a story about how he was talking to his neighbor about how we have a living prophet and he speaks to us every six months. The neighbor was intrigued asked what the prophet had spoken about last and the man could not remember. He admitted to feeling a little ashamed, after all he had watched conference - but he had not really put any effort into remembering it. For some reason this story has always stood out to me. Since then I have had a desire to know what the prophet spoke about during general conference so I can tell anyone who might ask!
Since very family is different I cannot choose the talks and make a lesson specifically for your family. Just remember it does not have to be long. One idea I had was to play a game (feed the kitty, trouble, candyland) and discuss about the talks during the game. That way the little one is kept busy, but still listening to what you have to say.
Choose talks that sparked your interest your touched your heart! Maybe each parent can choose their favorite talk and explain why it was so important to them and then discuss the prophets talk. Don't forget to open and close with song and prayer!
